If you are new to vaping, chances are that you do not know what nicotine level is appropriate for you. The good news is that no matter what level of nicotine you want in your e-juice, there is a product out there for you. The vaping industry has grown very enormous, and it can accommodate all kind of vapers; even those who want zero nicotine in their e-liquids. E-liquids not only come with varying nicotine strengths but also with different, unique flavors.

While nicotine is a highly addictive substance, it is not a carcinogen. The act of smoking appears to be the main problem with ingesting nicotine from traditional tobacco cigarettes. Cigarettes contain many harmful chemicals including carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, chromium, and lead. On the other hand, while some e-juices have nicotine, they do not include any harmful chemicals. Also, ingesting vapor does not have a destructive effect on the body like smoking.

Determining what nicotine level is suitable for you is to a large extent dependent on your experience with smoking tobacco cigarettes. If you are a heavy user, you would want to go for an e-liquid with a high nicotine content. However, if you are a light smoker, you should go for an e-juice with very low nicotine content. Some e-liquids have no nicotine in them. They are designed for people who want to completely stop their intake of nicotine but still like to puff.

Finding out what nicotine level is suitable for you is very important. Some of the most common symptoms that the nicotine content in the e-juice you are vaping is too strong include intense throat burn as well as feeling light headed and getting a headache after a few hits. This could seriously affect your vaping experience. The average cigarette stick contains about 12mg of nicotine. Normal tobacco cigarettes can have between 8mg to 20 mg of nicotine per stick. Light cigarettes, on the other hand, contain between 0.6mg to 1mg of nicotine in each stick.

The range of nicotine levels in e-liquids is between 0mg to 36mg. Some vaping companies chose to measure their e-liquid nicotine level in percentage, others just denote its strength from a range of non-nicotine, low, medium or high. Whatever the case, it is important to know the exact milligrams of nicotine per millimeter of the e-juice. Usually, non-nicotine e-liquids have 0mg of nicotine; Light e-liquids have 8mg; Medium have 11mg; Strong/Full Flavor have 16mg; Extra Strong have 24mg and Very Strong have 36mg.

As stated earlier, consider how much cigarettes you smoke every day when deciding which nicotine level is good for you. If you only smoke one or two tobacco sticks daily, go for an e-liquid with low nicotine. However, if you use at least one pack of cigarettes daily, then try an e-liquid with 11mg to 16mg of nicotine. Do not pick an e-liquid with a high amount of nicotine that your body is not used to. Instead, start on the low end, then increase the nicotine strength of the e-juice you vape. This would give your body time to adjust and would make your vaping incident-free and enjoyable. Some vapers even mix two e-liquids with high and low nicotine content to somehow balance it. Whatever you do, remember to start slowly.

If you are looking to cut out your intake of nicotine completely, there are also e-juice brands out there for you. Depending on how much cigarettes you use currently, you can start vaping with an e-juice that has medium to low nicotine strength. Then progressively use e-juices with lower nicotine strength until you are comfortable puffing your e-cig with a non-nicotine e-liquid.
